Hello Students!
Have you ever written a poem?
I’m here to tell you that it’s lots of fun and I think you should take a whack at it!  That’s what Mr. Mike’s Poetry Challenge is all about!  A few weeks before I visit your school, you’ll be thinking of neat ideas to write about.  You’ll write a ‘first draft’ and then rewrite, rewrite and rewrite to make it the best it can be!  When your poem is finished, you’ll write the ‘final draft’ on the ‘Mr. Mike’s Poetry Challenge’ sheet where you’ll give your poem a title and make a small sketch or drawing to go with it!  Everyone’s poem will be posted around the school or in the room where I’ll be doing my presentations!

This is your chance to really show what you can do!  I look forward to reading your poems and seeing your drawings during my visit to your school!
