Would some of your students enjoy a special ‘Lunch With Mr. Mike’?
This is a special event for a limited number of students – usually around 25 students.  Plan for about a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.  The PTA/O often puts on the lunch – like a party size sandwich and veggies or something like that.  Students can be chosen a number of ways: by raffle or another creative way that ensures every student has an equal chance at attending.

Students bring their poems to read to
Mr. Mike and the group after they’re done eating.  They also bring questions and things to talk about.  ‘Lunch With Mr. Mike’ is a casual, low-key time which is held in a room away from the hussle of the frantic lunch time area – like the library, for example.  You can indicate your interest in ‘Lunch With Mr. Mike’ on the Assembly Request Form.  Check out this dessert buffet… imagine how great the lunch was!

You can do just about anything for lunch with Mr. Mike!  It’s really fun when students bring their poems and read them!

Students are encouraged to make and bring a ‘personal place mat’, which
Mr. Mike will be happy to sign for them after the lunch!

Students can also ask questions that might not have been answered during the assembly Q&A!
